House Clearance

House Clearance in Leighton Buzzard and 25 Miles Around

Every room cleared, everything accounted for, and up to 98% kept out of landfill.

House clearance load with bags, boxes and furniture in the back of the van

A full house clearance means we take everything you do not want, from the loft to the shed, and leave the property empty and swept. It is the job we are most often asked to do for families after a bereavement, for executors and solicitors dealing with an estate, and for landlords and agents who need a property ready to let or sell.

We do it in a way that respects both the people and the contents. Anything you want to keep is set aside first. Anything of value is identified and, if you wish, sold on your behalf. Furniture and household goods that are usable go to local charities. Metal, wood, textiles, electricals and paper are separated for recycling. What is left is taken to a licensed transfer station, and what cannot be recycled is processed into refuse-derived fuel rather than buried. Across a typical clearance, up to 98% of what we take is reused or recycled.

What is included

  • Everything cleared: furniture, appliances, carpets, curtains, clothing, books, garage, shed, loft and garden
  • Items to keep set aside and, if needed, delivered to family members
  • Valuables, antiques and collectables identified and sold on your behalf by arrangement
  • Usable goods donated to local Bedfordshire charities
  • Full sorting for recycling, with a waste transfer note provided
  • Property swept and left ready for the next step
  • Photographs before and after, and a written summary for executors, solicitors and agents

How it works

Full House Clearance, step by step

Look and quote

We visit or do a video walk-through, discuss what stays and what goes, and give a fixed price. Where saleable items offset the cost, the quote says so.

Clearance day

We work room by room, set aside anything to keep, load the van and sort as we go.

Sweep and report

The property is swept, keys returned as instructed and you receive photos and a waste transfer note.

Reviews

What customers say

Real reviews from real jobs across Leighton Buzzard and the surrounding area.

★★★★★
“We were so pleased with the first-class job that Grant and his team did for us. No easy task, as we are hoarders, but they took it in their stride and worked so hard to get the job done. Professional, efficient, with a smile. Highly, highly recommend!”

★★★★★
“Grant helped me to move a motorcycle I was looking to buy and I couldn't be happier with the service. Great communication, prompt arrival and very careful with the movement of the bike while securing it for transport. Will definitely move items with the Removals Leighton Buzzard again when I need to. Thank you!”
Anthony B · Single item delivery
★★★★★
“Very happy with my experience with Grant. I asked on Facebook groups for waste collection in the midst of the heat yesterday and he was able to travel to me in Leighton within a couple of hours and cleared our garden for a reasonable price. We should have done this months ago. We will definitely use again should we need anything else. Thank you.”

FAQ

Full House Clearance questions

How much does a house clearance cost?

It depends on the volume, the access and how much can be resold or reused. A one-bed flat and a four-bed house full to the loft are different jobs. We give a fixed quote after seeing the property, and if there are valuable items we will offset them against the price.

Can you clear a house I cannot get to?

Yes. We regularly work with families who live far away and with solicitors. We can collect keys from an agent, send photographs throughout and return keys when we are done.

What happens to the things you take?

Anything usable is donated to local charities. Metal, wood, textiles, electricals and paper are recycled. Non-recyclable residue becomes refuse-derived fuel. We aim for up to 98% diverted from landfill and we can tell you where things went.

Are you a registered waste carrier?

Yes. We are registered with the Environment Agency as a waste carrier, and we provide a waste transfer note for every clearance. Never use a clearance firm that cannot show you its registration.
